SHIFT VESSELS & FORMS
I lost interest in the wooden turned form as a static object. Through a process that requires and accumulates so much physical validation over the span of it's creation; the final result which could be admired for it's aesthetic qualities would only have it's journey known by those who were there to conceive it. And even if the process was documented, it swiftly becomes an echo.
After Stilt vessel Mk1 was created back in 2022 as the start of "The Intended Space" project, and what would begin my whole series of projects on "Shift", I wanted to continue down this path of post-production interaction. For the consumer to be in effect both audience and participator to a greater extent.
Thus began the development of "Shift vessels and later, as traditional ideas of functionality became less of an intention, Shift forms. Designed to be interacted with whenever. By simply having the notion to change it's position, rotate it, place askew, are we ensuring a continuation of the creative undertaking in it's inception?
